This easy cheesy mushroom pork chops recipe is made quickly and with only a handful of fresh ingredients. The perfect solution for a weeknight dinner your whole family will love.
Season the pork chops with salt and pepper to taste and ginger.
In a large saute pan or cast iron skillet, melt two tablespoons of butter.
Brown the chops over medium-high heat until golden brown, depending on their thickness about 3-5 minutes on each side.
Remove the pork chops from the pan and add remaining tablespoon butter.
Add the onions and mushrooms. Sauté until onions are soft and all liquid from the mushrooms has evaporated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30-60 seconds.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the sour cream.
Place the chops on a shallow baking sheet and top each with half the mushroom mixture and half the cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit preheated oven until cheese has melted and begun to brown, about 10-15 minutes.
Notes
~ Free Tip ~ Substitute butter with olive oil. Instead of shredded mozzarella, top each chop with sliced mozzarella (two slices each) or use Gouda like the Germans do.
