Croatian simple Swiss chard (blitva) and potatoes recipe is delicious, super easy and quick to make with just a few ingredients. Serve this Mediterranean, gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian side dish with fish, meat, fried eggs or alone.
Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Meanwhile, cut chard into strips, and shortly boil in salted water, until the greens have just wilted. Drain and set aside.
Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add the potatoes and chard and toss to combine.
Season blitva with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot or at room temperature.

~ Free Tip ~ Substitute chard with spinach. Another variation is to cook a chopped tomato with garlic before adding chard and potatoes. Instead of boiling the greens, saute in oil until wilted.
