Are you looking for something new to spice up your fall holiday table or impress guests at your next gathering?
This insanely delicious, chilled spiced apple beer punch is a perfect choice because nothing says fall like apples and cinnamon.
Easy and quick to make, this beverage offers comforting flavors and since it's served chilled it is also a great refreshment all year round.
If you were to snoop around my house at any given time, you'd undoubtedly find these two things:
- Apples in my fruit bowl on the dining room table
- Some kind of beer in my messy refrigerator.
You would also only see me drink beer in these two scenarios:
- While I'm back in my homeland, or anywhere in Europe for that matter. Sitting outside a restaurant, watching people pass by, and sipping delicious European beer is my favorite summer pastime.
- When I take the first sip of my husband's freshly ordered beer. Rarely I will order my own here in the States and only so if it's an authentic German beer.
If your beer-drinking habit is like mine, aka an occasional affair, it will definitely change with this yummy apple and beer punch recipe. Not only are the flavors ideal for celebrating Oktoberfest and Thanksgiving, but this chilled punch is a perfect summer refreshment too.
Plus, it has fruit so it's healthy, right?
This punch goes perfectly with Swedish apple pie because it supplements the lack of cinnamon in the pie.
If you find yourself with extra beer and no one to drink it, make this beer and cheddar soup and then invite me over. Hot soup, a pie, and this chilled punch sound like a perfect meal to me. 😉
WHAT'S IN THIS APPLE BEER PUNCH?
- large apples (I used Honeycrisp, my favorite)
- sugar
- cinnamon sticks
- whole cloves
- light beer
- lemons
HOW TO MAKE IT?
- In a medium-size saucepan add sliced apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 3-5 minutes.
- Let cool completely. Stir in beer and lemon slices.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled.
RECIPE NOTES:
- If you prefer, peel the apples. Infused with alcohol, they are a delicious treat on their own.
- Serve the punch in a punch bowl. Double or triple the recipe for a larger crowd.

Yum! My husband would probably kill me if I turned beer into punch, but it sounds like an awesome drink for a special occasion...maybe I'll bring a pitcher to Thanksgiving this year. Thanks so much for sharing at the #happynowlinkup!

Ha ha, I get it! I wouldn't do it every day either, but it's perfect for special occasions 🙂

I happen to like beer, so this sounds like the perfect combination of flavors! I've pinned it and shared on Facebook. I'll be trying it! Thank you for sharing on Party in Your PJ's.
Jas says
Thank you, Teresa! Don't expect much of the beer flavor though. Maybe that's why I like it so much 😉
a spirit of simplicity says
It certainly does look pretty. I’m not much of a beer drinker but I think I might try some of that if it was offered to me.
Jas says
I'm not a beer drinker either, but luckily you can't taste it in this beverage 🙂

We always have beer in the fridge. Hey, I'm half German, half Scottish 😉 The good stuff, not the washed out dish soap you get in some countries. Can't wait to try your spice apple beer Jas, although we'll probably have to stock up on some lite beer
Jas says
Washed out dish soap, LOL. You crack me up 😀

Danielle @ A Sprinkle of Joy says
This sounds so tasty! I love mulled wine, and cider, but would have never tried to do a mulled beer!
Jas says
I hope you give it a try, Danielle. The beer is added to the cooled mixture and then it's kept chilled, but the flavor is very similar to the mulled wine 🙂

This Drink looks delicious! Pinning to my Drinks Recipe Board!

My philosophy - why drink beer when there is always vodka? But I'll keep this handy & try it out on the menfolk next weekend, which is supposed to be unseasonably warm (so I know there'll be golfing).
Jas says
I like your philosophy! This cocktail is sweet and I'm not sure if you should test it on the menfolk. It's more girly kinda drink 😉
Healthy World Cuisine says
This recipe is very original. I don't think I have ever drank hot beer, only room temp beer in Europe. Good on you for your cute and helpful video. Love it! Sharing of course!
Jas says
Hi, Bobbi! Thank you for your kind words as always. The beer in this recipe is not hot, hence "chilled punch". Germans do drink hot beer to mend the cold, though 😉
Elise Cohen Ho says
This sounds so interesting but I wonder how it would taste without the sugar.
Jas says
I'm guessing it would be bitter. Maybe substitute with honey or raw coconut sugar as a healthier alternative?
