Need a delicious cocktail for your holiday party? These festive cake batter shots rimmed with sprinkles are chock-full of holiday flavor and flare.
These cake batter shots easily convert from aperitif to after-dinner cocktails just by switching servings from shot to martini glasses. It's a pretty fancy way to get drunk if you ask me. ๐ Match the color of sprinkles with any holiday or occasion and you have a festive cocktail year-round.
Years ago, I made a small batch of these cake batter shots for our family's CHRISTMAS party. I thought our guys wouldn't want anything to do with pretty-looking cocktails and just made enough for the ladies.
But guys are like kids - when you tell them they can't have something they want it more.
Luckily, these come together quickly even with adding festive sprinkles to the rims. Who doesn't like cake in a liquid form, amirite? Skip the sprinkles if your guys are not in touch with their feminine side.
It would be a shame to miss out on these yummy cake batter shots only because they think they have something to prove, ha!
Maybe give them options and also serve this easy homemade Christmas Baileys or spiced apple beer punch. Happy holidays!
๐ Ingredients and Notes
- 2 tablespoons cake flavored vodka
- 2 tablespoons spiced rum
- 1 tablespoon part Crème de Cacao (chocolate liqueur)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- โ teaspoon cinnamon schnapps (optional)
- White frosting or marshmallow fluff
- Festive sprinkles
๐ช Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a martini shaker or a pitcher. Taste for spiciness and adjust by adding a little cinnamon schnapps or heavy cream, as needed. Refrigerate.
- To decorate the rims, dip the edge lightly into the frosting or marshmallow fluff, then into sprinkles. You just need enough frosting to get the sprinkles to adhere, not to get a big lump on the rim.
- When ready, pour the cocktail into shot or martini glasses and serve. Cheers!
