Need an impressive Christmas treat that you can make in no time? Try this easy hack: store-bought cookies, almonds, and sugar glaze make these sweet edible Christmas candles a festive table decoration or gifts for the office.
Best of all, there's no baking involved!

Easy and quick, these candles are the perfect last-minute edible gift for a party hostess. Add a small bottle of homemade Christmas Baileys to the gift bag, and you'll be everyone's favorite. 😉
📃 Why it Works
- These edible candles take just minutes to make
- They are no-bake!
- They make such a neat gift for co-workers. Wrap them individually in a clear foil with a pretty bow and a holiday tag - voila!
I found the ingredients at Aldi (not an affiliate). You will definitely find these wafers and cookies around Christmas but sometimes offseason as well. If not, there's always a good ole Amazon.
🛒 Ingredients and Notes
- raw almonds
- fudge marshmallow cookies
- wafer rolls
- powdered sugar
- water
🔪 Instructions
- Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Place your raw almonds into the boiling water. Let them boil for exactly one minute. Drain, rinse under cold water and drain again. Pat dry and slip the skins off. Set aside.
- Fit wafer rolls, chocolate side down, into the cookie holes.
- Mix powdered sugar with water, adding a little at a time, until you get a smooth, thick glaze.
- Add a little of the glaze around the base of the wafers to set in place. Then add the glaze on the top of the wafers, allowing a small amount to drip down the side.
- Immediately place blanched almonds, pointy side up, onto the top.
- Keep in a cool place or refrigerated until ready to serve.
- Use any cookies with a hole in the middle like the German chocolate-covered gingerbread cookies in the shape of stars and hearts. Just make sure they have a hole big enough for the wafers.
- Adjust the number of wafers and almonds, depending on the number of your cookies.

Mrs Shoes says
I know you pride yourself on most everything from scratch Jas, but I might have lower standards... Okay, I do. Anyway though, these are a genius hack & I'm going to make them for sure.
Um, you could just send me a bottle of that coffee whitener... It's my favourite. I make the homemade version too, but I'm def not above Vendor bought. Not fussy. Carolans or O'Darbys are the next best thing, but Carolans has the viscosity just right while O'Ds is a little thin. Plus, Carolans is cheaper. That's a free tip for you today. 😉 Research.
Jas says
Thanks for the free tip and doing the research for me, Mrs. Shoes 🙂 I don't make it from scratch except for Christmas. Otherwise, I buy the original Baileys Irish Cream. 😉
